HOMEMADE HANDLE & TRAY

This is a homemade tray made from a single piece of 1" wide X 1/18" thick aluminum. A 4' length is more than enough to do the job. The aluminum was bent in a vice then joined at the ends where the strobe base is mounted. This tray supports two GBUndersea lens docks, one for a wide angle lens and one for a close-up lens. It also supports an Inon D-180 strobe on a loc-line arm. The handles were made from heater hose and forced over the aluminum as it was bent. The black pipes are ABS plastic and are used for buoyancy. This rig is slightly positively buoyant. The length of the pipes determines the buoyancy relative to the total weight of the rig
The housing is positioned on this tray so that its owner can reach the shutter and zoom controls with fingers on their right hand while holding the right handle. This allows for single handed camera operation when circumstances require it.
